Not One, But Two Book Awards!

We love every book we publish, but of course, it’s always exciting to have them recognized by others too. We’re so excited to announce that two of our critical thinking books for kids have been named “Distinguished Favourite” in the 2025 Independent Press Awards!

“That’s What They Said.” (Children’s Picture Book, Ages 4-8) follows the musings of a kid thinker who isn’t ready to accept the tall tales the adults around her try to tell. It’s a giggly romp through the mind of a young skeptic.

“They Do, Not You!” (Children’s Nonfiction) features a cast of fascinating animals who react to new ideas and situations in their own unique way. It also reminds human readers that we have our own way to handle these things.

Both books feature words by Amy Leask, illustrations from Klaudia Maziec, and both are the perfect way to start a philosophical discussion with a wee thinker.
